Abstract
This study focused on the effectiveness of Crest FM's "The Conversation" programme in promoting environmental consciousness and its influence on pro-environmental behaviours among citizens in Ondo State. The study specifically examined how the radio programme creates awareness of environmental issues. The study was anchored on agenda-setting theory. The survey was conducted among four hundred respondents within Owo Local Government, Ondo State. The multi-stage sampling technique was employed in this study. The data collected were analysed using simple frequencytables. The study found out that most of the residents have knowledge of environmental issues due to consistent media campaigns. It was revealed that there was high awareness and listenership of ‘The Conversation’ programme among the residents. It also found out that the programme significantly enhanced listeners' knowledge of environmental issues and pro-environmental practices after listening to it. The study recommended that the government and environmental organisations in Ondo State should collaborate with Crest FM to promote pro-environmental behaviours highlighted in the programme, such as waste management, recycling, and community clean-ups.
